House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees have begun work on the fiscal year 2027 state budget, which begins Oct. 1. The MHA has created a new action alert encouraging individuals to contact lawmakers and emphasize the importance of protecting healthcare funding.
The voice of healthcare leaders is critical to communicate to lawmakers that addressing potential budget shortfalls cannot come at the expense of healthcare coverage and access. As the chambers craft their budget proposals over the coming months, contacting lawmakers will be critical to preventing potential changes to Medicaid or other healthcare funding.
