Healthcare Trustee Orientation Offered Sept. 26

Posted on July 13, 2017

There are strong views about the future of healthcare, and both hospital administration and healthcare governing bodies must seriously weigh options in the context of their organization’s mission and the community it serves to navigate this changing environment successfully.

To inform board members about ways providers and the MHA are collaborating, embracing transparency, and meeting patients and communities where they are in their health journey, the MHA will conduct a trustee orientation from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Country Club of Lansing. The orientation is open to members of the governing boards of MHA-member organizations.

The day will begin with a briefing on the MHA’s advocacy, access to care, and patient safety efforts. Both trustees and new hospital and health system CEOs are invited to the MHA briefing, which is scheduled to end at 10:30 a.m. The remainder of the event will be an educational session only for trustees on a board’s legal duties and responsibilities and how to use knowledge and teamwork to lead.
