Hospitals Talk ACOs, Behavioral Health, More at MHA Leadership Conference
Last week, the MHA hosted its annual Leadership Conference near Traverse City, convening small and rural hospital administrators, physicians and others from across Michigan. Attendees discussed a host of issues affecting healthcare delivery in their communities, including the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 and new payment models; rural accountable care organizations; how to build championship teams and leadership skills with 2006 Super Bowl Champion Ben Utecht; and integrating behavioral and physical health. The MHA also provided a legislative and advocacy update, and members were able to go in-depth in multiple breakout sessions on making decisions with data, thwarting cybersecurity attacks, and creating a culture of high reliability.
In conjunction with this year's Leadership Conference, the MHA hosted its first financial forum of the calendar year Wednesday afternoon. In addition, the MHA Council on Small or Rural Hospitals and the East Central District Hospital Council hosted their winter meetings prior to the kickoff of the Leadership Conference.
