The following statement may be attributed to MHA CEO Brian Peters.

MHA CEO Brian PetersThe Michigan Health & Hospital Association appreciates the state budget passed today by the Legislature that protects vital funding sources for patient care in Michigan hospitals. This support is crucial as our members continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic while providing lifesaving services throughout our state every day. We are particularly excited about the increases in the funding for the state’s Medicaid plan, including the first statewide outpatient Medicaid fee increase since 2002. This budget also extends Medicaid postpartum benefits for mothers to a full year, which is a critical step to improve maternal health equity in our state. This budget is a great example of the bipartisan support for healthcare that exists in Michigan.
