MHA Cancels In-Person Annual Membership Meeting, Virtual Meeting to be Held

Posted on April 09, 2020

Grand Hotel Mackinac IslandAt the direction of the MHA Board of Trustees, the MHA is officially canceling the 2020 MHA Annual Membership Meeting Mackinac Island gathering scheduled for June 24-26 due to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The MHA recognizes and shares in its members disappointment but is confident that it is the right decision for member hospitals and health systems.

The MHA bylaws require that an annual meeting of the MHA House of Delegates must be held to conduct necessary governance and business items. This annual meeting will be held virtually at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25. Members should watch for an email in the coming weeks with information about how to participate in the House of Delegates virtual annual meeting.

This cancellation will be a one-year hiatus of an important MHA tradition, and the association looks forward to coming together in June 2021 at the Grand Hotel to learn, network and celebrate the accomplishments of Michigan hospitals.

The MHA’s sole focus for the last several weeks has been helping hospitals navigate COVID-19. The association appreciates the continued support of Michigan’s hospitals and healthcare professionals who continue to display profound courage in fighting this pandemic. Members with questions regarding annual meeting should contact Erin Steward at the MHA.
