MHA Statement on Signing of CARES Act

Posted on March 28, 2020

The following statement can be attributed to Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.

MHA CEO Brian PetersThe MHA would like to thank our 16-member congressional delegation for their role in helping to pass the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which provides critical financial relief to hospitals across the country. This piece of legislation not only signifies the enormity of this crisis, but also is representative of how important it is for America to unite around the common goal of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. It is our hope that the federal government will now set its sights on using every lever of government to acquire more equipment and supplies to protect our frontline caregivers. Hospital workers across the country are our most important resource at this moment and deserve the full support from our country.
