MiBiz: State Legislature considers bills to significantly change health care certificate of need regs

On Dec. 6 MiBiz published an article that recaps testimony heard Dec. 5 in the Senate Health Policy Committee on a seven-bill package that would reform Certificate of Need (CON).

The article references the written testimony that the MHA submitted to the Health Policy Committee, including the MHA’s opposition to removing cardiac catheterization from CON because it “could potentially increase the likelihood that patients experiencing major complications during cardiac catheterization do not receive the immediate care they need, leading to higher risk of negative patient outcomes and even mortality.”
