Michigan Implements Membership in Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission

Posted on September 25, 2019

At the end of 2018, the governor signed MHA-supported Public Acts 524 and 563 of 2018, which made Michigan a member of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission (IMLCC). This is based on model legislation nationwide to allow physicians to be licensed in many states simultaneously and promptly.

The Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing has released its formal announcement that, effective Sept. 24, physicians in Michigan and other compact states can take advantage of the IMLCC. The bureau also released Frequently Asked Questions to assist physicians with the new process. Members with questions should contact Paige Fults at the MHA.
