Educational Opportunities Offered on Home Health, Building Diversity

The MHA Health Foundation is offering two educational webinars in early March. One addresses the need for healthcare providers to learn and understand new Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation requirements for home healthcare agencies. The other discusses the importance of increasing diversity in leadership and governance in healthcare organizations and how it can help break down disparities.

The MHA Health Foundation webinar “Compliance with New Home Health Conditions of Participation is scheduled from 1:30 to 3 p.m. March 1 and will review:

  • The expanded number of patient rights, including the right to participate in the care planning process, and ways to integrate them
  • The expanded role of interdisciplinary teams and team requirements for assessment and creation of individual care plans
  • New requirements for home health aide assignments, care plans and supervision
  • The changes in organizational and administrative services, with a focus on branch office requirements and the governing body

  • How diversity benefits a whole organization and the surrounding community
  • How to develop and integrate diversity hiring processes
  • How to measure the effectiveness and financial impact of diversity and inclusion
  • Discrimination and how to avoid it at the board table and in the organization
