Maternal health continues to improve. However, the rate of severe complications associated with delivery is still well above acceptable standards. Severe bleeding, infections and high blood pressure are some of the contributing factors to obstetrical morbidity and mortality. Furthermore, post-partum hemorrhage is associated with one in four pregnancy-related deaths. Other variables that factor into obstetrical outcomes include socioeconomic status, geographic location, adequacy of services and cultural practices.
The MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) is hosting a safe table focused on obstetrical adverse events June 12 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Grand Valley State University – L.V. Eberhard Center, Grand Rapids.
Due to an overwhelming response, the MHA Keystone Center PSO is no longer accepting registrations for this event. There is a wait list available. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the list, and we will contact you if a spot becomes available.
