Surgical-site Infections (SSI) represent a significant and preventable patient safety issue. Recent discussions on SSIs between MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization (PSO) members who have conducted root cause analyses determined a SSI safe table would be beneficial to better understand what is being done to mitigate risks. This safe table will give MHA Keystone Center PSO members the opportunity to examine common barriers to implementing preventative SSI measures and data trends. Brian Hallstrom, MD, University of Michigan Health System, will serve as a guest speaker to outline the current issues associated with SSIs and help guide discussion.
Registration is free and open to all MHA Keystone Center PSO members. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at MHA Headquarters, Okemos.
Members with questions may contact the MHA Keystone Center PSO.
