The MHA Health Foundation webinar series Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services 2019 Conditions of Participation for Hospitals will review in detail newly finalized rules and how to make quick, effective changes to compliance plans.
Part 3 — Infection Control
The standards include discharge planning; organ, tissues and eye procurement; surgical and anesthesia services; outpatient and emergency services; and rehabilitation and respiratory services. Suggestions will be given for effective practices surrounding:
- Providing and documenting a written list of available home health and long-term-care facilities given to patients.
- Accurate completion of discharge planning and infection control worksheets to receive appropriate reimbursement.
- Documenting a post-anesthesia assessment.
- Mandatory staff training on organ donation and hospital policy.
