MHA Systems Listing
A parent organization is defined as a public or private organization that wholly owns, is the sole member or shareholder of, or holds the exclusive power to appoint the governing board of either of the following: one or more individually licensed Michigan hospitals that are Type 1-A members, or two or more geographically distinct acute care facilities that are operated by the parent organization under a single license. To qualify for membership, the parent organization must be headquartered in the state of Michigan [excerpt from MHA Bylaws, Article II, Section 1 Membership, Subsection Type 1-A]. Type 1-A members that are not owned or operated by the healthcare system but have an association with that system are listed in italics.
