First Goal Achievers Announced for 2017 Health PAC Campaign
The 2017 MHA Health Political Action Committee (Health PAC) fundraising campaign among member hospitals began Feb. 27, working toward the association’s statewide goal of raising $385,000.
Health PAC funding is one of the most critical tools used to help the hospital community speak with one voice when working with elected officials in Lansing and Washington, DC, and contributions to Health PAC have helped the MHA advocate for the patients and communities hospitals serve. Full participation by all MHA members is imperative to identifying elected officials who are willing to protect public policies that preserve vital healthcare services and enhance the health and well-being of Michigan residents.
Six weeks into the campaign, the MHA Health PAC Board has announced that Community Health Center of Branch County, Coldwater; Hills & Dales General Hospital, Cass City; Hillsdale Hospital; Holland Hospital; the Hospital Council of East Central Michigan, Bay City; the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, Okemos; Otsego Memorial Hospital; Gaylord; Three Rivers Health; UP Health System – Bell, Ishpeming; and UP Health System – Portage, Hancock, are the first MHA members to meet their organization’s Health PAC goal.
The MHA Board of Trustees has requested that each hospital and health system conduct a Health PAC fundraising campaign. Hospitals that wish to have the MHA conduct their campaign should complete the Mailing Service Form and return it to Stacy Dowdy at the MHA. Hospitals that have not yet done so are encouraged to begin their local Health PAC fundraising campaigns. The deadline to complete campaigns is June 2.
For general campaign information, materials and updates about goal achievers and individual club members, visit the Health PAC webpage. Members with questions should contact Stacy Dowdy at the MHA.
