Public Health Partnerships

Health Beyond the Bedside

The MHA works with partners and stakeholders to improve health in ways that go beyond delivering services to patients who are ill or injured. Over the years, the MHA has worked with its members to address the nutrition of hospital food, remove smoking and tobacco use from hospital campuses, educate the small business community about hospital wellness offerings, and ensure medical care is being delivered in an environmentally friendly way.

Michigan Harvest Gathering

The Michigan Harvest Gathering (MHG) is an annual statewide campaign that raises food and funds for Michigan’s emergency food response. In it’s first 25 years, the MHG Campaign raised over 54 million meals to help those in need. The MHA and its members are a longtime sponsor and partner of MHG. Learn how you can participate and help.

The Partnership for Michigan’s Health

The Partnership for Michigan’s Health is comprised of the MHA, the Michigan State Medical Society and the Michigan Osteopathic Association. Together, the Partnership works on healthcare issues of common interest affecting patient safety, access to care and more. The Partnership also sponsors the production of the annual Economic Impact of Healthcare report.

Vaccinations

The MHA works with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), the Parent Information Network (PIN), the Alliance for Immunization in Michigan (AIM) group and other stakeholders to ensure that Michigan children, adults and healthcare personnel are appropriately vaccinated. Learn more on our vaccinations page.
