Senior Vice President, Advocacy
Chris Mitchell joined the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) in 2006 and currently serves as senior vice president for advocacy. In this role, he serves as the day-to-day lobbyist in the state Capitol. This includes providing testimony and information pertinent to Michigan hospitals. He is also responsible for monitoring regulatory activity and assists in developing the association’s policy positions. Additionally, he serves as the MHA’s legislative liaison to the Michigan Organization of Nurse Executives.
In a 2015 MIRS/EPIC-MRA Insider Survey, Mitchell ranked second in the most effective single-issue lobbyist category. More than 1,000 legislators, government officials and staff members, and lobbyists cast votes in the survey, conducted by the Michigan Information & Research Service (MIRS).
Mitchell earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University.
